Excellent concise guide to tree pruning for the homeowner or park worker

Review – True Pruning: A Worldwide Photo Guide
“Tree Pruning” by Alex Shigo is a small but powerful book by one of the world's foremost tree experts. Here in a thin little book, Alex gives us photograph after photograph detailing how to prune and how to not prune trees. The pictures are clear, excellent and well document the points being made. The text is sparse, but clearly written in English, not jargon, and excellently outlines what the pictures are pointing out. Nearly every page is nearly filled with a picture of trees and their pruning, good and bad with a short descriptor note on what the picture is showing. After the hour or two it takes to digest this book, the reader will have a good understanding of how to prune his trees.
I highly recommend this book to home owners and park workers for a quick, clear, concise guide to tree pruning.

Will change the way you think about trees

This book will change the way you think about trees. It's essentially a condensation of the principals Shigo presented in his book "A New Tree Biology", but directed at those who care for, and prune, trees. Before you take saw or loppers to a tree, make sure you read this book. Check the Shigo website; the prices are much better than the copies shown here.
