A professional who understands the parents

As a parent of a 22 year old daughter with an ASD, I found Dr Hoffman's book to be a refreshing take on a subject that I've been dealing with for 18 years. I wish "Stuck" was a resource when we started the journey. It is the first book that really talks to parents with an empathy for the complicated emotions we experience. I appreciated his honesty and advice to set realistic expectations and the reminder that we aren't alone. It is also the first book I've read that puts a positive spin on therapeutic residential education as a placement potential when staying at home isn't healthy for the family unit.

I woud probably like it, or love it

I am a french concerned mother so I just bought the book after searching both keywords "ASD" and "OCD". That gave a very lot of references in english, so this book. I translated into french ("TSA" and "TOC"), and found.... Nothing... Then tried with the author "Jonathan Hoffman"... Unknown in France !
I would want to know if articles or even the whole book are translated in French, for example in Canada ? However, it 'll be difficult for me to translate because I severely misanderstand english : but I have to try, because we french people access to a very little bit informations about these both topics, which even the psychologists and experts don't always link. That's a very big limit to success at the challenge in our country, where parents feel alone.
If I'll anderstand, I woud probably like it, or love it, so I give 5 stars !
